The Martin House envisions a community where every childhood is free from abuse. This vision is fueled by a holistic approach that is child-focused and supported by a community wide effort that collaborates to combat and treat child maltreatment in Gregg, Harrison, and Marion Counties. The center’s existence is a testament to strong multidisciplinary team partnerships and community support.

The Martin House CAC, was inspired by the first Children's Advocacy Center established by District Attorney Bud Cramer in Huntsville, Alabama, in 1985. The CAC model reached Texas with the opening of The Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center in Amarillo in 1990. By 2000, the Children’s Advocacy Center of East Texas (CACET) was established in Longview to serve Gregg and Harrison counties under the umbrella of East Texas CASA. In 2009, the Board voted to separate the two organizations and The Martin House CAC bagan operations. Marion Country was added to our service area in 2014.
Today, as part of a network of 70 CACs in Texas and more than 900 nationwide, The Martin House Children's Advocacy Center serves over 600 new children and their families annually. The center's growth and success reflects the collaborative efforts of law enforcement, Child Protective Services, medical and mental health professionals, and the strong support of the community.
Our team is made up of dedicated professionals united by a passion for child welfare and advocacy.
A diverse board membership governs our agency and includes community members and representatives from our partner agencies who guide our mission and community impact.
